Frequently Asked Questions
Does acupuncture hurt?
No, acupuncture should not hurt. A momentary prick is often felt around the needle as it is inserted, eventually creating a dull pressure or tingling around the area during the treatment. Extremely thin, pre-sterilized, disposable needles are placed on specific areas of the body. The needles stimulate what the Chinese call Qi (chee); the manipulation of the Qi benefits health and aids in healing disease. Our Clinic uses only the finest quality Japanese and Korean needles to provide a very gentle and effective treatment. The acupuncture experience is one of relaxation and healing. Most patients report feeling very relaxed during and after the treatment.
Is acupuncture safe?
When performed by a licensed competent practitioner, Acupuncture is a safe, gentle, and highly effective way to manage chronic health problems and tap into your true potential for health and longevity. Acupuncturists are required to use disposable needles that are discarded after one use.Acupuncture is side effect free and a drug-free treatment of signs and symptoms.
